Veteran of the WWWs (I, II, III … all of them)

This is me - Sgt. MacFinnicky.

And together with my sidekick, Murphy¹ we are a team of hard-bitten veterans of the War on Error. And our job is to turn you into an AWS warrior. God help us all.

This here blog is our journal of what works, what doesn’t, and all the Fun™ you can have figuring out the difference. So, listen up, ‘droops’! Pay attention and maybe we’ll just make solutions architects out of somne of you.

In the posts that are to come, we’re going to be diving into a bunch of crazy hare-brained schemes that make use of modern public cloud services. All on (we fervently hope) a low nominal budget.

We’ll be trying things out and sharing the stories of what happens when you give it whirl. And mostly what blows up when you get it … sub-optimally configured.

So - welcome to our little corner of the ‘dubya-dubya-dubya’. That’s the Wild Weird West of experimentation and repeated failure as we ride into off the in the cloudy sunset, shooting from the hip.

You know when you know. And by know you most certainly do know that this is going to be exactly what it’s going to be.

After all - we’re right up here in the cloud!
